Alred B. Dati

    Alfred Branchini Dati of Sullivan, Missouri was born on January 3, 1922 in Iron River, Michigan (Mineral Hills) to Medoro and Velelma Dati and passed away Tuesday, March 3, 2020 at the age of 98 years.

    He attended Iron River High in Iron River, Michigan, where after high school he joined the Civilian Conservation Core (CCCs) to which he expressed he thoroughly enjoyed.
    Alfred married Betty Jane Taetsch in 1941.
    On April 7, 1942 he was drafted into the United States Navy’s “Amphibious” Group during the Second World War and was honorably discharged from service in 1945.
    Alfred spent most of his life as a miner in Iron River, Michigan until he moved to Missouri in 1964 where he continued his mining career at Meramec Mine until it closed.
    In 1977 he relocated his family to Tooele, Utah, to take a job with Anaconda Mining Co., retiring in 1983.
    He was a man of many talents. His yard was always the best in the neighborhood and his gardens always flourished with vegetables. He was an expert carpenter and helped his sons and daughter build their homes.
    He was preceded in death by his wife, Betty Dati; his parents, Medro and Velelma (Branchini) Dati; one granddaughter, Julie Dati; one brother, Vedio Dati; and four sisters, Roberta Ivey, Eva Scalcucci, Genena Anderson and Asfalda Kososki.
    He is survived by his children, Dennis Dati of Sullivan, Missouri, Claudia Dati Sharp and husband Carroll of Warrenton, Missouri and Alfred E. Dati and wife Corrinna of Tooele, Utah; seven grandchildren, Bryan Thomas of Rome, New York, Denise Mueller and husband Mark of Cuba, Missouri, Lisa Stewart and husband Jeff of Warrensburg, Kentucky, Tracy Hempel and husband Chuck of Sullivan, Missouri, Edward Dati and wife Amy of Columbia, Missouri, Brandi Hartigan and husband Chris of Bandera, Texas and Deven Dati and wife Caroline of Tooele, Utah; seven great grandchildren, Alexis, Matthew, Brooke, Chase, Micha, Connor and Damen; two step children, Kaydee and Kamryn; one brother, Donald Dati and wife Carol of Milwaukee, Wisconsin; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 10-11 a.m.  on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Mass of Christian Burial was held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, March 5, 2020 at the St. Anthony Catholic Church in Sullivan, Missouri with Father Paul Telken officiating.
    Burial of the cremains followed in the St. Anthony Cemetery with full military honors.
