James Austin Ogle


    James Austin “Jimmy” “Boone” Ogle of Steelville, Missouri was born on Friday, July 7, 1950 in Keysville, Missouri to Fredrick W. and Pearl (Jones) Ogle and passed away Saturday, February 29, 2020 at the age of 69 years, 7 months and 22 days.


    Boone was raised in Steelville, Missouri where he lived most of his life.  He graduated from Steelville High School with the Class of 1968 and then joined the United States Marine Corps where he served honorably.
    He married Deborah Lorraine Argent in Steelville, Missouri.
    He later worked at US Steel for a number of years.  Boone enjoyed the outdoors and being on the river, whether it was fishing, floating or just sitting watching the water go by.  He loved motorcycles, cars and guns.  He liked to watch westerns, listen to country music and loved his dogs.  
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Fredrick and Pearl Ogle; sisters, Margaret (Dave) Boldt and Shirley (Noah) Livesay; and brothers, Bob (Ruth) Ogle, Richard Ogle and Fred Ogle.
    He is survived by his sons, Nicholas (fiancée Casey) Ogle of Cherryville, Missouri and James “Jimmy” Ogle of Granite City, Illinois; grandchildren, Cierra Belle Barrios-Ogle of Granite City, Illinois, Cheyanne Sonnier, Duncan Cofer and Cody Ogle, all of Cherryville, Missouri; brother, Ray Ogle of Annapolis, Missouri; other relatives and  friends.
    The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
    Visitation was held from 5-6 p.m. on Friday, March 6, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.     Memorial service with full military honors immediately followed with Tommy Boldt officiating.
