Matthew Paul Bishop Smith

    Matthew Paul Bishop Smith of Richland, Missouri was born in Salem, Missouri on July 9, 1987 to Doug Smith and Della Bishop and passed away on Saturday, March 7, 2020 at the age of 32 years.

    On June 28, 2014 he married Brittany (Fogelman) Smith.
    Matthew graduated from Drury University with a Bachelors Degree in Elementary Education with certification to teach K through 9th grade. He taught middle school and junior high mathematics for the Richland R-4 School District as well as serving as the head high school track coach. The Richland Bear Track Team dedicated this season in his honor. Among his personal interests was being an avid video gamer and enjoying playing with his young daughters.
    He was preceded in death by his grandparents, Robert Lee Bishop, Glynnes Smith and Wanda Smith.
    He is survived by his wife, Brittany Smith of Richland, Missouri; two daughters, Camryn and Aaliyah Smith of Richland, Missouri; father, Doug Smith and wife Dena of Doolittle, Missouri; mother, Della Bishop-Baggett and husband David of Doolittle, Missouri; four brothers, Roger Lukenbill and wife Traci of Fordland, Missouri, Stephen Smith and wife Michelle of Doolittle, Missouri, Joshua Smith and wife Alizabeth of Richland, Missouri and John Hoover and wife Rebecca of Hurley, Missouri; sister, Amanda Smith of Rolla, Missouri; step sisters, Taylor Smith and husband Garrett of St. James, Missouri and Allison Burton and husband Sam of Rolla, Missouri; one step brother, Andrew Vinson and wife Hannah of Grove Spring, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Monday, March 9, 2020 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, March 10, 2020 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
    Interment followed in the Roach Cemetery in Doolittle, Missouri.
