Numerous area businesses changing operating hours or closing during pandemic

    A new order from the governor on Saturday has forced many Missouri businesses to change their operating procedures during the ongoing pandemic. The biggest change is a requirement that all state residents “avoid eating or drinking at restaurants, bars, or food courts.”

    The order does allow for restaurants continue operations of drive-through, pickup, and delivery. The order also included the end of all nursing home visitation and the requirement that schools remained closed.
    This latest order, along with previous ones, have led to changes in operating hours and procedures for numerous area businesses. Here is a list of business changes that have been reported to Three Rivers Publishing or by the chambers of commerce in Cuba, Steelville, St. James and by the Bourbon Boosters:
    • The Cuba Free Press will be open from 8 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, the Saint James Press will be open form 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday, Wednesday, and Friday, and the Steelville Star-Crawford Mirror will be open from 8:30 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. Monday and Wednesday.
    • Towne Pharmacy in Cuba and Steelville Drug remain open and are providing service via their drive-through windows, curbside delivery, and home delivery.
    • Maramec Spring Park is closed until further notice.
    • MFA Oil in Cuba is closed to the public, but propane deliveries are still being made and their gas pumps remain open for Petro card use 24 hours a day.
    • The Bourbon American Legion Hall is closed through the month of April.
    • The city of Cuba has closed the lobbies at city hall and the police department. The Visitors Center and Historical Museum are also closed. All events at Recklein Auditorium and at city parks are canceled through at least May 1. Animal Control is handling pet adoptions by appointment only.
    • Little Jack Horner’s Desserts in Cuba is closed, but is offering pickup service by order only.
    • Creekside Fudge & Gifts in Steelville is closed until further notice.
    • John’s Small Engine Repair is open and is offering pickup and delivery of mowers for a small fee.
    • American Family Insurance – Marilyn Lakaner in Sullivan has closed its office to the public, but employees are still available for all services via phone and email.
    • All area banks—including FCNB, Peoples Bank, Sullivan Bank, Phelps County Bank, and Maries County Bank—have closed their lobbies, but are still offering drive-through service. Banks remain available by phone and through online services.
    • Crawford Electric Cooperative has closed its office to the public. Customers can use the drop box at the office, or pay their bills online or by phone.
    • Steelville Arts Council has closed the Meramec Music Theatre, Gallery Zeke, and Heartland Arts until further notice.
    • Steelville Telephone has closed its lobby. Payments can be made online or at their drop box.
    • The city of Steelville has limited access to city hall to one person at a time and people may call to pay their utility bills or use the drop box at city hall. Both Steelville parks have been closed to the public.
    • Lyric Live Theatre in Newburg has closed for its entire 2020 season, with the exception of the Bob Milne show, which is scheduled for October 9.
    • The FourWay restaurant in Cuba is closed until further notice.
    • The Phelps County Assessor’s office closed to the public as of Monday.
    • The Bourbon Community Center is open for limited use, including the distribution of food to senior citizens, through April 20.
    • All Crawford County library branches are closed.
    • The Cuba and Bourbon Senior Centers are open for takeout and delivery meals only.
    • The James Memorial Public Library in St. James is closed to the public, but is offering curbside pickup of books.
    •  The St. James Veterinary Medical Center has closed its lobby to clients until further notice. The offices will remain open during normal business hours. Clients are asked to call upon arrival and a staff member will assist with medication or to bring a pet inside.
    • Sybill’s restaurant in St. James is closed for a minimum of two weeks beginning Saturday, March 21. Plans are to reopen Tuesday, April 7 if deemed safe to do so. There will be no carry out or delivery during this period.
    • Bronze Boutique in St. James is temporarily closed until April 5.
    • Show Me Fitness in Steelville is closed with tentative plans to reopen on April 6.
    • Coco’s Mexican Grill in Steelville has its drive-through open for takeout orders.
    • Dairy Isle and Grill will be open this week from Wednesday through Sunday for takeout orders. Watch for more information on future open days.
    • Rich’s Famous Burgers in Steelville is open for carryout and delivery and has expanded their delivery service to Cuba.
    • Spare Rib Inn is open for takeout and delivery orders.
    • Dollar General Store in Steelville is reserving shopping hours for senior citizens and those with compromised immune systems from 7 to 8 a.m. daily.
    • Country Mart in Steelville and St. James, and Bourbon Town & Country have announced they are closing one hour early, open from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. daily, so employees can work to restock and sanitize the stores.
    • Art and Joe in Steelville is offering curbside pickup service.
    • Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville and Cuba is following new visitation and funeral procedures, limiting 10 people at a time gathering outside the funeral home and cemetery.
    • Perkins Lumber in Steelville and St. James is asking that you call in orders for delivery to your vehicle when you arrive. They will remain open until further notice.
    • Liberty Leather Works in Steelville is conducting business only by appointment or online orders. Their Homestead Market and Animal Swap scheduled for Saturday, March 28 has been canceled.
    • Huddle House in Cuba is open for takeout orders.
    • Mace Supermarket in Cuba is designating special shopping hours for older adults and those with underlying health conditions every Wednesday from 6:30 to 7:30 a.m.
    • Frisco’s in Cuba is open for curbside takeout and delivery orders.
    • Meramec Vineyards in St. James has opened a new online ordering system for carryout and delivery. Visit their website for details.
    • The St. James Senior Center is offering takeout meals only from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. Call to make your order.
    • Just a Taste in St. James is open for takeout and delivery.
    • Country Bob’s in St. James is open for takeout and delivery.
    • Missouri Pizza Company in St. James is open for takeout and delivery.
