Walter Edward Reimers of Leasburg, Missouri was born on February 28, 1934 in St. Louis, Missouri to Walter C. and Clara (Greishaber) Reimers and passed away on Wednesday, March 18, 2020 at his home at the age of 86 years.
Walter married Lorraine L. Deschaine on November 26, 1955 in Houlton, Maine.
Walter honorably served his country in United States Air Force during the Korean War.
He retired from McDonnell-Douglas as a parts inspector, after 32 years of dedicated service. He spent many countless hours and days mentoring, coaching, refereeing and judging Amateur Boxing in St. Louis, Missouri.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Walter and Clara Reimers; wife, Lorraine Reimers; and one daughter, Lori Reimers.
He is survived by his four children, Karen and husband Donald Kunar of Daytona Beach, Florida, Gary Reimers of Leasburg, Missouri, Brian Reimers of Wright City, Missouri, David and wife Erin Reimers of St. Charles, Missouri; six grandchildren, David and wife Rebecca Reimers, Ashley and husband Jordan Broviak, Jacob and wife Olivia Reimers, Brett Reimers, Kristen and husband Thorsten Walter and Matthew Oakley; five great grandchildren, Bryce, Emily, Cami, Xiomara and Bailey; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 9-11 a.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Graveside service was held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, March 21, 2020 at the Valle Spring Cemetery in Ste. Genevieve, Missouri with full military honors.
