Daryl Julius

    Daryl Julius was born July 11, 1947 in Union, Missouri to William and Lucille (nee Brune) Julius and passed away Friday, April 17, 2020 at the age of 72 years.

    Daryl attended school at the Union School District and East Central College.
    He served in the US Army from August 1966 to August 1968. He was injured in the Vietnam War and continued his service in Germany until his honorable discharge.
    Daryl worked at Chrysler for 30 years until his retirement in 1992.
    He was a member of Immaculate Conception Church Parish in Union, Missouri.
    Daryl enjoyed traveling, especially going on cruises and trail riding. He was also an avid collector and bargain hunter. He was known as a handyman that could fix anything.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, William and Lucille Julius; four siblings, Barbara Kelley, Terry Julius, Douglas Julius and Dwight Julius; two brothers-in-law, James Kelley and Ron Michels; and extended family, Leonard Brautigam and Clifford Brautigam.
    He is survived by his significant other of 24 years, Ann Brautigam; one son, Christopher Julius and wife Michelle of Orlando, Florida; one daughter, Lori Julius of Union, Missouri; one grandson, Lucas Julius; four sisters, Caryn Michels of Cape Girardeau, Missouri, Brenda Burton and husband Dennis of St. Clair, Missouri, Mae Thurman of Beaufort, Missouri and Vickie Smith and husband Mike of Union, Missouri; two brothers: Kevin Julius and wife Pam of Union, Missouri and Britt Julius and wife Chris of Bourbon, Missouri; two sisters-in-law, Patsy Julius of St. Clair, Missouri and Clara Julius of Union, Missouri; extended family, Shirley Brautigam, Betty Brautigam, JoAnn Smith and husband Larry, Jerome Brautigam and wife Doris, Rose Mary Brautigam, Lorraine Thompson and husband Gary, and Linda Kasmann and husband Kevin; other relatives and friends.
    Memorial service will be held at a later date.
    Arrangements under the direction of the Oltmann Funeral Home in Union, Missouri.
