Shirley Ann Kinsey

    Shirley Ann Kinsey of St. James, Missouri was born October 30, 1935 in St. James, Missouri to Rubel and Velva Robertson Basford and passed away Saturday, April 18, 2020 at the age of 84 years.

    She married Tony Kinsey on August 5, 1956.
    Shirley always found happiness in the simplicity of life-cooking meals, bird watching and being out on her farm. She loved to share stories of growing up with her mother and daddy and she enjoyed talking with her sisters. She never wanted to miss a Cardinal’s baseball game.
    As a follower of Jesus, her strength and faith guided others with a light of selfless love. She was filled with patience and kindness.
    Shirley worked as a beautician and a medical receptionist.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Rubel and Velva Basford; brother, Eugene Basford; and oldest sister, Patsy Davis.
    She is survived by her husband, Tony of the home; two sons, Bruce Kinsey and wife, Angela of Dacono, Colorado and Brian Kinsey and wife Melissa of St. Louis, Missouri; one daughter, Kelley Stenburg and husband Bill of Severance, Colorado; grandchildren, Tiffany Buehrlen and husband, Brian, Brittany Butler and husband Chase, Courtney Campbell and Christopher Kinsey; great grandchildren, Nolan, Madilyn, Emry, Maddox, Ian and Tessa; two sisters, Janet Davis and husband Butch and Mary Jane Tessaro and husband Robert; sister-in-law, Mary Ellen Basford; other relatives and friends.
    Private family visitation was held at 1 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home Chapel in St. James, Missouri.
    Private graveside services were held at 2 p.m. on Monday, April 20, 2020 at the High Gate Cemetery with Brother Lynn Huggins officiating. Music was provided by the Church of Christ singers.
    Pallbearers were Bruce Kinsey, Bill Stenberg, Chase Butler, Brian Buehrlen, Courtney Campbell and Nolan Buehrlen.
    Arrangements under the direction of Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
