This article is not meant to scare you, but as the United States, and the world, are fighting a very serious pandemic, here is some food for thought. I first want to say that we are not all going to imminently die because of this pandemic and that all hope is lost. This is not the case. However, whether we’re in a pandemic or not, it is of the utmost importance to make a vital decision for your future.
Who would have ever thought that the U.S. would close our borders to many countries, airline traffic reduced to nil, states at various phases of a stay at home orders, healthcare worker’s utterly risking their lives and the lives of their families while doing their jobs, and the same with the grocery store workers, drug store workers, police, firefighters, and more? Who would have ever thought that millions of Americans would be wearing masks over their faces when they go outside, and that the schools and colleges would be empty of students, many people sent to do their work at home, unemployment numbers soaring beyond belief? Who would have believed the restaurants and other nonessential businesses would have to close for weeks or going out of business by the multitudes? We have seen a time when Walmart and other stores had to force people to stand outside in line if too many people show up to shop. And can you believe that all the sports events would cease for an undetermined amount of time? Unbelievably, it all happened in the blink of an eye.
Now, back to the opening of this letter, this article is not meant to scare you. Rather, it is a look at life, so precious. When things are normal in the everyday life of an American, we go about doing our daily chores, going to work, school, going on vacations, life’s moving right along. We get caught up in everyday life. But we are missing the most important thing in life. Now, here I go, bold as brass, ask yourself: What is going to happen to me when I die? Where is the urgency in thinking about this and preparing for it? We all know it’s going to happen to us someday, maybe today or tomorrow, only God knows. I strongly urge you to draw near to Jesus right now. Yes, Jesus is real, and Heaven and Hell are real. Skeptical? Don’t bet your life on it. The final day in your life will come when the Lord will decide: It is finished.
When you accept Jesus, you are saved! Don’t let another day or hour pass by. If you accept Jesus, you are assured 100 percent that you will go to Heaven when you die. You don’t have to be afraid, or be anxious, or worry about anything (See Matt 6:25-27). Nothing on this earth can separate you from God’s Hands. You are safe in the Lord and can look forward to going to Heaven where there’s no more sickness, no more pain, no grief, no crying (See Rev 21:4). You’ll never grow old, no disease or pestilences, no tragic automobile accidents. You’ll even be reunited with your loved ones who were saved, as well!
Now is the time to let go of whatever it is that keeps you from accepting Jesus. If you’ve never invited Jesus into your heart, if you’ve never trusted Him as your savior, you can pray right now, do that. Just simply pray the prayer below, from your heart, if you truly believe and give your life to Jesus. This means to devote yourself to living as Christ wants you to as He says in the Bible. (Many people believe in Jesus, but simply believing, in itself, does not mean you are saved.) Say this prayer to accept Jesus as your Savior and the Lord of your life:
“God, I’m a sinner. I’m sorry for my sins, I believe Jesus Christ is your Son, and I want to invite Him to come into my heart, into my life. I’m willing to trust Him as my Savior and follow Him as my Lord. I pray this in Jesus Name, Amen.” You are now a Christian! I praise God you are saved!
Being a Christian is a growing process. Believe me, you have not committed your last sin. We all sin, every day. Begin reading God’s Word, the Holy Bible. It’s His written Word to us on what He wants us to do in this life on earth. There are many helpful Study Guides available to aide you in your glorious journey through the Bible. Don’t miss this point: talk to a local Pastor of a Bible-believing church or talk to a strong Christian friend and ask them to help you in your walk with God. Find a local church to go to and worship the Lord together with other Christians.
Every day, talk to God in prayer. You don’t have to use fancy speech when you talk to God. Just pour out your heart to Him, whatever those cares may be. Has sin overcome your life, such as addiction to drugs, alcohol, pornography, gossiping, lying, evil thoughts, pride, anger, lust, a lover of money, jealousy, …? Ask God to help you turn away from those sins, to give you strength to overcome them and be victorious. Will it be easy, no. All your troubles and heavy burdens of this world will not cease, but He offers you a helping hand, strength, peace, and comfort. God tells us “I will never leave you nor forsake you.” (Heb 13:5.)
Not only in times like these, but at all times, we should be vigilant in prayer. We don’t know what the future holds, perhaps “the good life” is ahead. Perhaps not. Look at what is happening to society. How far down into the depths of immorality will we go as a nation? If America does not change her ways to a Godly society, we are definitely, yes definitely, in for a desperate fall that is not even imaginable. Am I trying to shock you, yes! But only because all you have to do is come to the realization that God will bring down judgement for our sins, as people, and as a nation. Get right with God, your future depends on it.
Also, if you’d like, a local Prayer Team member can call you if you’ll leave your phone number. Don’t give your last name unless you wish to share it. Someone will give you a call to pray with you. Also, we can arrange for a local Pastor to call you, if you request it.
As an encouragement in these troubled times, don’t miss the good things of this life! Listen to the birds in the early morning hours, take a close look at the newness of the Spring season in the budding of the trees and the colorful flowers peeking up around the green grass, watch the peacefulness of the geese flying overhead, look for those beautiful sunrises and sunsets that God provides us. Our blessings are endless, so enjoy them.
America shall survive, for now, but there is coming a day when this will not be the case. The answer for restoring America is for souls to be saved, for Christians to walk the Christian life, and for us to stand up for what our forefathers, in their Godly wisdom, laid out for our country.
I have written this because I care about you. We are in this world together folks. Whether we’re in uncertain times, or enjoying life like it was before, everyone needs to be ready for where he or she goes when their life here on earth is finished. I care about people, and I care about my friends and neighbors in Crawford County. The older I get, the bolder I’ve become in taking a stand for what is right, speaking up against what is wrong, standing up for God, our country, and the constitution. I am proud to be an American and I love to see Old Glory waving in the wind. It is my desire, and my duty, to witness to people and share with them that they need to choose Christ before it is too late. I’ve been bold and outspoken in this letter. I just do not want your time to run out.
