PMCHD issues possible COVID-19 exposure alert

Part of the Phelps/Maries County Health Department’s duty to protect the public’s health is informing of potential COVID-19 exposure in the community.
Individuals at the following location on the dates below are at low risk for contracting COVID-19, and should self-monitor for symptoms.

Symptoms include: Fever of 100.4 or higher, cough, shortness of breath, headache, sore throat, loss of sense of smell and/or taste, and generalized muscle aches and pains.
Locations of potential exposure are:
* Love’s Travel Stop 3500 Hy Point Industrial Drive Rolla, MO
- Thursday, May 7, 2020 overnight into Friday
- Friday, May 8, 2020 evening
- Sunday, May 10, 2020 overnight into Monday
- Tuesday, May 12, 2020 overnight into Wednesday
If any further locations of potential exposure are determined, we will release those as more information is obtained.
The Phelps/Maries County Health Department urges the public to take appropriate precautions including: social distancing, limiting in-person interactions, avoiding contact with people who are sick, covering coughs and sneezes, proper hand-washing, cleaning frequently used surfaces, and staying home when sick. It is of the utmost importance that any individual experiencing symptoms isolate from others.
We encourage anyone that suspects you have COVID-19, or have been in contact with a confirmed case of COVID-19, to call your healthcare provider before seeking care, unless it is a life-threatening emergency.
