Jennie Mae Copper Dicks of Rolla, Missouri was born February 6, 1926 to Ralph and Martha Jones Copper and passed away Friday, June 19, 2020 at the age of 94 years.
On December 21, 1946 in New Castle, Pennsylvania, Jennie married Harold Chester Dicks Sr.
Jennie and Harold lived in many places due to his career in the Air Force. They had homes in Japan, Virginia, Illinois, Hawaii, the Philippines, Missouri and Pennsylvania. They raised three children. Their oldest son, Harold Jr., had Down Syndrome. At the time of his birth, doctors recommended that they place him in an institution. Instead, they made sure he enjoyed the same quality of life as his siblings. Jennie achieved much in her life as a military wife.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Martha Copper; husband, Harold Chester Dicks Sr. in 1982; son, Harold Jr.; sisters, Catherine and Shirley; and brothers, Gerald, Dale and Ralph.
She is survived by one daughter, Pamela and husband George Timson of Rolla, Missouri; one son, Mark and wife Donna Dicks of Talent, Oregon; grandsons, Joel Faucett, Seth Faucett and Craig Timson; two great grandchildren, Thomas and Joanna; other relatives and friends.
Due to COVID-19, the family requested a private visitation and funeral Monday, June 22, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Burial was at the Fair Oaks Cemetery in New Wilmington, Pennsylvania, where she will be laid to rest next to her husband and son.
