Norma Jean Isbell of Cuba, Missouri was born Saturday, December 10, 1932 at St. Louis, Missouri to Jacob and Fern (nee Louks) Zweifel and passed away Sunday, July 5, 2020 at the age of 87 years.
Norma married Howard Lester Isbell Jr. on Thursday, January 27, 1955 in St. Louis, Missouri.
Norma spent her life taking care of her home and her family, regardless of what part of the world they lived in. They lived in many states and many countries, while Howard was a Sergeant in the United States Army. During their travels, Norma collected salt and pepper shakers and spoons.
She spent her life being a St. Louis Cardinals Baseball fan and her son Donald got to take her to one game at Busch Stadium. She spent part of the game yelling at the players and the umpires. Norma owned a tote full of St. Louis Cardinals and St. Louis Blues t-shirts.
She enjoyed playing bingo, watching “Days of Our Lives” and her favorite time of year was Christmas. Norma’s life revolved around her TV, coffee pot and dog “Trixie.”
She was preceded in death by her parents, Jacob and Fern Zweifel; husband, Howard Lester Isbell Jr.; four month old son, Michael Isbell; siblings, Bob Zweifel, Jack Zweifel, Norman Zweifel and Betty Wells; and grandson-in-law, Trevor Stannard.
She is survived by her children, Donald and wife Lisa Isbell of Cuba, Missouri and Susan and husband Monty Luke of Cuba, Missouri; three grandchildren, Mandy Marie Stannard of Barlett, Texas, Ben and wife Rita Lee of Cuba, Missouri and Jacob and wife Morgan Isbell of Cuba, Missouri; two great grandsons, Dylan Lee of Cuba, Missouri and Blake Lee of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Mizell Funeral Home in Cuba, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Thursday, July 9, 2020 at the Mizell Funeral Home with Pastor Don Martin officiating. Special recorded music by Monty Luke was “How Great Thou Art” and “Peace in The Valley.”
Private family interment was held at the Fairclough Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
