Elsie Lee Weaver


  Elsie Lee Weaver of Steelville, Missouri was born in Keysville, Missouri on Wednesday, July 2, 1930 to William Clark and Emily Lola Esther (Oxendine) Farrar and passed away on Thursday, July 23, 2020 at the age of 90 years and 21 days.


    Elsie attended school in Keysville, Missouri.  She accepted the Lord early in life.
    She married Charles Sheldon Weaver in Cherryville, Missouri  on July 27, 1946.
    She was a member of United Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri.  She was a full time homemaker and enjoyed cooking and babysitting.  
    Her home was the popular place to be on Sundays as she always had her famous fried chicken on the menu. She spent a lot of time sitting on her porch and watching her hummingbirds feed.  She was an avid bowler and participated in many bowling leagues. Other hobbies included traveling, following the St. Louis Cardinals and watching Wheel of Fortune.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Emily “Esther” Farrar; husband, Charles Sheldon Weaver; parents-in-law, Osten and Rose (Farance) Weaver; sons, DeWayne Weaver and Tim Weaver; son-in-law, Ned Dorf; grandson, Joshua Wyatt Staples; brother, Jim Farrar; sisters, Mildred (Delmar) Parrett, Rosie “Mable” Farrar and Anna Farrar; brothers-in-law, Earl Halbert, Rev. Jerry Walls, John (Jean) Weaver, Berton (Margaret) Weaver, Wilbur Weaver and James (Juanita) Weaver; sisters-in-law, Lena (Otto) Cummings, Elsie (Coleman) Hardin, Sylvia Weaver, Ruth (Jim) McCoy, Rosemary (Bob) Wilkinson, Vera (Aden) Jones, Bernice (Alvin) Counts and Clara Weaver.
    She is survived by her children, Kay (Dan) Becker of Ballwin, Missouri, Anna “Mert” (Ken) Staples of Cuba, Missouri, James “Bo” (Chris) Weaver of Steelville, Missouri, Brenda (Robert) Marz of Rolla Missouri and Tammy (Matt) Tighe of Cuba, Missouri; daughter-in-law, Kim (Kelly) Williams of Cuba, Missouri; sisters, Edna Halbert of St. Louis, Missouri and Arnetta Walls of California, Missouri; special nephew, Joe Halbert of Springfield, Missouri; grandchildren, Shane (Tracy) Staples, Alicia Weaver, Emily (Joe) Weaver, Ryan (Jessica) Weaver and Hannah Weaver, all of Cuba, Missouri, Danny Becker and Billy Weaver, both of Owensville, Missouri, Cheri (Rob) Garrett of Sullivan, Missouri, Heather Marz of St. James, Missouri, Luke (Sandon) Marz, April Cahill, and Chad Marz, all of Rolla, Missouri, Michelle (Wes) Hampton of Salem, Missouri, Bobby Becker of Ballwin, Missouri, Bartley (Michelle) Staples of Washington, Missouri, Amanda (Joe) Sullivan of Union, Missouri, Roseann (John) Miller of Marthasville, Missouri, Charlie Weaver of Columbia, Missouri, Jimmy (Kirsten) Weaver of Fort Worth, Texas, Justin (Ericka) Weaver of Crystal Beach, Texas, Shelby (Alister) Beardshaw of Walker, Louisana, Colby Dorf of Denver, Colorado and Meegen Hancock of Van Buren, Arkansas; 38 great grandchildren; 12 great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, July 27, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home, in Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral service was at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, July 28, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Spencer Hutson officiating.
    Burial was at the Martin Trask Cemetery in Cherryville, Missouri.  
    Arrangements under the direction of the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
