The St. James Kiwanis Club are raffling off a kayak and tickets are on sale now. This is the second year the kayak raffle has been held, with the club seeing great success last year as a first-time fundraiser.
Tickets are on sale now from any Kiwanian for $2 per ticket or six for $10. The drawing will be held later this year with all proceeds going towards annual community events and activities the club holds annually to help the children of the community.
The club holds fundraisers each year to generate funding for programs such as boys basketball, youth volleyball, k-kids, Jump Into Health, builders club, and more. Under normal circumstances, the Kiwanis Club would hold a gun raffle during the annual Grape and Fall Festival. Due to the cancellation of this year’s events, the club instead will focus their attention to the kayak fundraiser this fall.
All proceeds go to programs that directly help the kids of St. James. Kiwanis holds many different activities each year to enrich the lives of students in the district through activities each year and pancake day is a driving fundraising force that makes those programs possible.
Anyone interested in purchasing tickets can visit the group’s St. James Kiwanis Club Facebook to find a Kiwanian. Club members can also answer any questions the community might have about the club, who is affected by annual programs, or on how to become a club volunteer. Every dollar raised by the Kiwanis Club stays in the community and directly aids children living here.
