Janet Faye Kemp of Salem, Missouri was born on Monday, December 26, 1955 in Fredericktown, Missouri to Lee Roy and Bobbie Faye Kemp and passed away on Monday, August 24, 2020 at the age of 64 years, 7 months and 29 days.
Janet attended school in Viburnum and Ironton, Missouri. After graduating, she took classes at Mineral Area College for Psychology and Art.
She had previously worked as a dispatcher in the state of Nevada, a miner for Doe Run and as a health care provider with Phelps Regional Health.
Janet was a Jehovah Witness and enjoyed her time spent and bible studies with Karen, who came to her home. She had a green thumb and could make a beautiful plant from any kind of start. She loved her plants and to garden. She had several dogs that she was crazy about, but her current furry companion was Buster.
Janet loved to bake and was known for her tuna fish sandwiches from her grandchildren. She was full of life and energy, she lit up any room she went into and always wore a smile. She enjoyed going to yard sales and was a collector of carnival glass. She also collected coins, raw stones and $2 bills.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Lee and Bobbie Kemp; and nephew, Robert Jones.
She is survived by her daughters, Brianna Kemp of Cuba, Missouri and Katie Kemp of Steelville, Missouri; companion, Gale Blair of Cherryville, Missouri; sisters, Debbie Radford of Ironton, Missouri and Susan Green of Marshfield, Missouri; grandsons, Michael Hebert, Sean Hebert, Tyler Hebert, Aiden Whipp, Christopher Whipp and Bryson Whipp; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, August 28, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Rick Haggett officiating.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
