The Cuba High School softball season was scheduled to get underway this week, but the Lady Wildcats’ first three games were suddenly postponed on Monday.
The school district confirmed Tuesday morning that the postponements were related to COVID-19 but declined to provide any more details. Cuba’s season opener in Rolla on September 1, home opener against New Haven on September 3, and game at Linn on September 8 were all postponed. Makeup dates are yet to be announced.
The home opener was also slated to be senior night. The school had previously announced that if any senior nights, which were all scheduled for the first home games for each team, had to be canceled they would be rescheduled for the next home game. For the softball team, that is September 15 against Vienna at 5 p.m.
The next possible game for the Lady Wildcats will be played at Capital City in Jefferson City on September 10.
