Beth Ann Mayes of St. James, Missouri was born September 13, 1961 in Rolla, Missouri to Emory and Shirley (Owens) Hicks and passed away on Thursday, August 27, 2020 at the age of 58 years.
Beth was raised by her step mother, Sharon Hicks and father, Emory.
On August 18, 1979 at the Flag Springs Church in St. James, Missouri she married Kevin Mayes.
Beth loved the excitement of a rodeo and enjoyed watching a Bull Bash to see how long a rider could stay on a bull. Beth never passed up a yard sale and she was known by her first name at the Caring Center because she was there so often.
Beth had a loving and helping nature about her and it showed in her years of countless hours working with victims of domestic violence.
She was preceded in death by her mother and father, Emory and Shirley Hicks; son-in-law, Brandon Amlong; two brothers, Terry and Duke Hicks; and granddaughter, Lydia.
She is survived by her step mother, Sharon Hicks of Belle, Missouri; husband, Kevin Mayes of St. James, Missouri; son, Chuck Mayes and wife Casey of Belle, Missouri; daughters, Rebecca Kay Justus and husband Michael of Bland, Missouri and Amanda Amlong of Titusville, Flordia; brother, Randy Hicks and wife Dawn of Belle, Missouri; sister, Shelia Thomas and husband Mike of Belle, Missouri; 15 grandchildren; five great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Sunday August 30, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at 11 a.m. on Monday August 31, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Gene Branson officiating.
Burial was in the Flag Springs Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Brandon Steen, Kaden Justus, Michael Craig, Matthew Cannon, Robbie Nielsen, and Jed Thomas.
