Two teens have been arrested for allegedly murdering a 15-year-old boy after they all escaped from the St. James campus of Great Circle.

Enoch Phillips, 18, and Cody B. Armistead, 17, are each charged with one felony count of first degree murder, according to documents filed in Phelps County Circuit Court. They have been arrested and are incarcerated in the Phelps County Jail.
According to the probable cause statement, Phillips, Armistead, and the 15-year-old victim, whose name is not being released, escaped from the campus on September 16. The statement says Phillips and Armistead returned to Great Circle on September 17 and, when asked, told staff they did not know where the third teen was.
The statement said Phillips and Armistead allegedly told another client they’d killed the other boy. That client then came forward with the information.
Law enforcement conducted interviews on Friday, with both Phillips and Armistead allegedly confessing to murdering the other party by assaulting and strangling him. According to the report, Armistead led investigators to the victim’s body, which was located in an open field in the area of the 600 block of Maramec Street in St. James.
An autopsy is being conducted by the Boone County Medical Examiner’s Office.
Great Circle operates several facilities across Missouri and provides behavioral health, counseling, and crisis programs for children and family members. Its St. James campus is located on County Road 3610. Great Circle is cooperating with the Phelps County Sheriff’s Department and the Children’s Division of the State of Missouri in their ongoing investigation into the death.
