Chamber selling flags for Veteran’s Day honor walk

The St. James Chamber of Commerce will be holding a Warrior’s Walk in honor of Veterans Day on Wednesday, November 11, and is selling American flags for the event. Each flag will have the name of a veteran and will be posted around the walking trail at the Tourist Information Center.

“We are selling 12x18 inch flags for $5 to be displayed the week of Veteran’s Day,” Chamber Director Robin Ziegler explained. “When you purchase a flag, you can provide us with a name of a veteran to honor with that flag. The flags will be posted all along the walking trail at the Tourist Information Center from November 6 through the 13th.
“We hope to fill the lawn with these flags and show those folks travelling along I-44 just how much pride St. James has for our veterans. We will also post one flag for each of the veterans at the Missouri Veterans Home in St. James,” Ziegler said.
Flags will be posted on the lawn of the facility so residents living there can see them as they while they look outside from the facility or spend time outdoors.
Flags can be purchased at the Tourist Information Center, Maries County Bank, and Hutcheson Ford. They can also be purchased on the Chamber’s website at For more information, visit the website or call the Chamber offices at 573-265-6649 to learn more.
More details about the Warrior’s Walk will be provided as the event draws closer.
