Harold Davis Cunningham


    Harold Davis Cunningham of Cuba, Missouri, previously of Steelville, Missouri, was born on Sunday, April 8, 1951 in Pensacola, Arkansas to Eddie “Ed” and Luvada (Kerkman) Stephens Cunningham and passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at the age of 69 years, 5 months and 9 days.


    Harold graduated from Licking High School.  He worked several jobs throughout his life such as at the zoo where he fed animals, as a security guard, a handyman, a janitor and lastly as a truck driver.
    He married Norma Jean Gargus on April 2, 1996 at the courthouse in Steelville, Missouri.
    Harold had accepted the Lord. He enjoyed traveling and all things outdoors, especially hiking, fishing and hunting.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Ed and Luvada Cunningham; wife, Norma Jean Cunningham; son, Harold Davis Cunningham Jr., siblings, William “Bill” (Lillian) Cunningham, Charlie (Joyce) Cunningham, Joseph “Joe” Cunningham, Dorthy Cunningham, Olive (Emmett) Lane, Lois “Tammy” (Jim) Tinker and Odie “Lee” Cunningham; parents-in-law, Ralph (Norma Jean) Gargus and Pauline (Bill) Adams; brothers-in-law, Johney Bolin, Joe Mitchell and Frank Gargus; and sister-in-law, Charlotte Gargus.
    He is survived by his children, Harold “David” Cunningham of Cabool, Missouri and Jessica Cunningham of Troy, Missouri; step daughter, Pam (Leon) Callahan of Steelville, Missouri; grandchildren, Halie Gibson of Rolla, Missouri, Aaron “AJ” Gibson of Steelville, Missouri, Britney Cunningham and David Cunningham, both of Troy, Missouri; step grandson, Jonathon Callahan of Sullivan, Missouri; siblings, Helen Mitchell of Thayer, Missouri, Alfred (Lois) Cunningham of Edgar Springs, Missouri, Carnie Bolin of Steelville, Missouri, Jimmy (Suzie) Rinehart of Foley, Missouri and Clarence “Chipper” Cunningham of Mountain View, Missouri;  brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law, Roy Gargus of Corona, California, Katie Butler of St. James, Missouri, Sandy (Rick) Wood of Fayetteville, Arkansas, Lorna (Gene) Dotolo of Washington, Peggy (Curt) Kelley of Centralia, Missouri, Nancy (Steve) Choate of Springfield, Missouri, Thrisia Cunningham of Troy, Missouri, Deloris Cunningham of Bowling Green, Missouri and David of Eola, Iowa;  ex-wife, Clara Evens of Cabool, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was from 6-7 p.m. on Friday, September 25, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    A memorial service immediately followed at 7 p.m. with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating.
    The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
