Robert Lee “Bob” Brown

    Robert Lee “Bob” Brown of St. James, Missouri was born June 27, 1939 in Cherryville, Missouri to Billy Brown and Della Dicus and passed away Saturday, September 19, 2020 at the age of 81 years.

    He married Judith Ann Watson on August 26, 1961 in Boston, Massachusetts.
    He was a loving and sometimes a mischievous brother to his 14 siblings.
    Bob was a strong believer in Jesus Christ, his Lord and Saviour and the Word of God.
    He dutifully served our country in the Army-Air Force and National Guard.
    In his younger years Bob served in the Army, Air Force as an airplane mechanic and the National Guard.  He left the service and went on to do other things by becoming a carpenter doing painting and taping and retiring after 30 years.  
    He drove from St. James, Missouri to St. Louis, Missouri and back every day so he could be with Judy and his girls in the evenings.  He build and remodeled homes for his wife, girls and numerous family and friends.
    He then joined the Army Reserves retiring as a tank commander.  He served a total of 23 and a half years in the Armed Services.
    He was preceded in death by his father and step mother, Billy and Lorene Brown; mother and step father, Della and Raymond (Ray) Dicus; five brothers, Leroy, Noah, Bill and twins, Ronald and Donald; and two sisters, Bernice “Nick” Brewer and Jerry Harger.
    He is survived by his wife, of 59 years, Judy of St. James, Missouri; two daughters, Barbara Carpenter of Lee’s Summit, Missouri and Teresa Ann Laster of Rolla, Missouri; one brother, Larry Brown of Maplewood, Missouri; six sisters, Edie Succio of Louisville, Kentucky, Zelma Mokuau of Williamsburg, Virginia, Margie Vancil of Union, Misosuri, Betty Wegel of Maryland Heights, Missouri, Junie Operndex of Union, Missouri and Bonnie Brewer of Des Arc, Missouri; grandchildren,  Vincent “Vinny” (Caroline), Bobby, Krishanne, Jason (Stephanie), Nathan (Mackenzie), Jacob (Alexis), and Tyler; great grandchildren, Keaton, Gwendolyn, Carter, Cayson, Violet and Sofia; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 6-8 p.m. on Wednesday, September 23, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, September 24, 2020 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri with Brother Mick Thrasher officiating.
    Pallbearers were Bobby Laster, Tyler Laster, Larry Brown, Jason Carpenter, Nathan Laster and Jim Bowen.
    Burial was in the Ozark Hill Memorial Gardens in Rolla, Missouri with full military honors.
