Leda Ann Edgar (nee Weister) of Steelville, Missouri was born on Monday, February 25, 1952 in Rolla, Missouri to Royden C. and Leda B. (Bennett) Weister and passed away on Monday, September 28, 2020 at the age of 68 years, 7 months and 3 days.
Leda attended school in Cherryville and Steelville, Missouri then moved to Slater, Missouri where she graduated high school in the Class of 1970. She later attended Sedalia State College.
Leda married Arnold Lewis Edgar on June 10, 1972 in Ashland, Missouri.
She worked in Human Resources with the Missouri Department of Corrections. She accepted the Lord early in life and attended Center Point Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri.
Leda enjoyed quilting, sewing and cross-stitching. She enjoyed watching television, especially soap operas, Dr. Phil and Dancing with the Stars. She loved to sing and play the piano. She enjoyed reading of all sorts, but especially read the Bible and have bible studies. She loved her dogs Rosie, Riley and Ginger.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Royden and Leda Weister; parents-in-law, Floyd and Hazel (Martin) Edgar; brothers-in-law, Jack Hammonds; sisters-in-law, Brenda Asher and Geraldine Pratt; infant brother-in-law and sister-in-law, Lula Carol Edgar and Coel Thomas Edgar.
She is survived by her husband of 48 years, Arnold Edgar of Steelville, Missouri; children, Patricia (Karl) Lueck of Columbia, Missouri and Michael (Jennifer) Edgar of Quartz Hill, Calfornia; siblings, Carol Hammonds of O’Fallon, Missouri and Jim (Margaret Ann) Weister of Kansas City, Missouri; brothers-in-law, Floyd “Bud” (Kathleen) Edgar of Festus, Missouri, Vondel Edgar of Viburnum, Missouri, Malcom “Mac” Edgar of Flat River, Missouri, Kelly Edgar of Cherryville, Missouri, Ricky (Anna) Edgar of Shoal Creek, Missouri, William Craig (Marie) Edgar of Potosi, Missouri, Emmett Asher of Bixby, Missouri, Vernon “Cotton” (Lien) and Bob Pratt, all of DeSoto, Missouri; sisters-in-law, Janet Faye (Jerry) Parmley of Potosi, Missouri, Janice “Kay” (Lee) Parker of Vacaville, California; grandchildren, Amber Peak of Cuba, Missouri, Patricia Edgar of Phoenix, Arizona, Treyton Wehmeyer of Columbia, Missouri and Dominique Wehmeyer of Jefferson City, Missouri; great grandson, Elijah Peak of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was from 10 a.m.-noon on Friday, October 2, 2020 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Funeral service was held at noon at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Matt Cook officiating.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition.
