William Paul Scheider III


    William Paul Scheider III of St. James, Missouri was born on December 31, 1958 to William Paul Jr. and Betty Jane (Mahon) Scheider and passed away on Friday, November 13, 2020 at the age of 61.


    At the age of 15, William went to work for Glenn Dressendofer on his farm in Vichy, Missouri. He worked for him on and off up until last year when his health would no longer allow. He loved working on the farm, working the cattle, hogs, driving the tractor.
    He went to work for the City of St. James in the Sanitation Department, before settling in the Street Department where he would spend the next 19 years.
    Every year he would ride in the Leroy Tipton Tractor Ride, proudly showing up in a John Deere.
    Tragedy struck in 1995 as his daughter Anita Wisdom was killed in an automobile accident, and again in 2009 when his son Robert Scheider was struck by a car killing him.
    William took everything in stride and pushed through, he was known to be a jokester with a big sense of humor.
    He enjoyed hunting and trout fishing. He was a people person who never met a stranger.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, William Jr. and Betty Jane Scheider; children, Anita Wisdom and Robert Scheider; and brother, Bernard Scheider.
    He is survived by his son, William Scheider IV; sisters, Mary Ann Scheider of St. Louis, Missouri, Brenda Riley and husband Dale of Rolla, Missouri, Barbara Zink and husband Michael of Midland, Michigan, Marie Lundry of Hot Springs, Arkansas and Carol Harris of Florida; other relatives and friends.
    
    Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Tuesday, November 17, 2020 at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary in St. James, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Wednesday, November 18, 2020 at the St. James Chapel of the James & Gahr Mortuary with Pastor David Scudder officiating. Masks are strongly suggested.
    Interment with full military honors was at the Adams Cemetery.
