Council discusses changes to the animal control agreement

On Tuesday, November 10, the St. James City Council held a first reading on an ordinance which would raise the cost of dog registration and allow the impound fee for collected animals to go to Phelps County Animal Rescue. The change will amend the agreement with the Phelps County Animal Rescue, which is serving as animal control for the city, and would raise the cost of a dog tag from approximately $1 to $3.
