Ruby Isolene Stites

    Ruby Isolene Stites of Steelville, Missouri was born August 17, 1933 in Keysville, Missouri to Winfred and Dovie Oxendine Stites and passed away Sunday, December 13, 2020 at the age of 87 years, 3 months and 27 days.

    Isolene had been a member of the First Baptist Church in Steelville, Missouri for many years and also attended Victory Baptist Church at Cherryville, Missouri.
    She graduated from Cherryville High School.
    For 20 years, she was employed at Gibbs Care as a supervisor over housekeeping in which she loved her job, retiring in 1995.
    Isolene enjoyed gardening, sewing and quilting and cooking chicken and dumplings for her family on Sunday.
    She loved to cook and enjoyed sharing new recipes. She was kind and caring and loved going to church to praise God when she was able to go.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Winfred and Dovie Stites; two brothers, Cecil Stites and Bill Stites; sister-in-law, Deloris Stites; and nephews, Michael Plank, Dale Wayne Stites and Brian Stites.
    She is survived by her sister, Shirley (Mike) Plank of Steelville, Missouri; three brothers, Lane Stites, Bob Stites and Joe (Joyce) Stites, all of Steelville, Missouri; sister-in-law, Pearl Stites of Steelville, Missouri; 12 nieces; nine nephews; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, December 17, 2020 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Jerry Beers officiating. Special music of “Amazing Grace” and “Precious Memories” was sung.
    Committal prayer and interment were in the Cherryville First Baptist Church Cemetery.
    Casket bearers were Randy Stites, Heath Stites, Paul Stites, Rod Mell, Matt Booker and Matt McPherson with Allen Stites serving as honorary.
