Richard Russell “Rick” Johnson of Rolla, Missouri was born in Jamaica, Queens, New York on December 11, 1955 to Richard Albert Johnson and Ruth Ann (Woolley) Johnson Brotman and passed away Monday, December 14, 2020 at the age of 65 years.
Rick was a U.S. Air Force veteran retiree having served his country from 1976 to 1996, retiring honorably after earning the rank of Master Sergeant.
Rick was a lifelong, avid train enthusiast and very knowledgeable about everything related to trains. He was also a talented woodworker and an excellent cook.
He was preceded in death by his parents, Richard Johnson and Ruth Ann Johnson Brotmanhis; and infant brother, Robert Karl Johnson.
He is survived by four children, Lee Richard Johnson of Wichita, Kansas, James Daniel Johnson of Rolla, Missouri, Timothy Douglas Johnson and wife Heather of Swedeborg, Missouri and Amanda Ruth Kossuth and husband Jared of St. James, Missouri; two brothers, James Johnson of Reidsville, North Carolina and Craig Johnson of Archbald, Pennyslvania; sister, Patti Brush of St. James, Missouri; step father, Irwin “King” Brotman of Orange City, Florida; three step sisters, Michelle Brotman of Orange City, Florida, Lisa Sosa of Deltona, Florida and Jennifer Enos of Plantation, Florida; eight grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Graveside service with full military honors was held at 1 p.m. on Tuesday, December 22, 2020 at the Missouri Veterans Cemetery near Ft. Leonard Wood, Missouri.
