Charles Curtis Martin


    Charles Curtis Martin of Belle, Missouri was born April 28, 1948 in Clarksburg, Missouri to Curtis J. and Melva (Winebrenner) Martin and passed away on Thursday, December 24, 2020 at the age of 72 years.


    He attended school in Clarksburg, Missouri and then in California, Missouri.
    After school he went to work for Gerhart Concrete Construction where he was employed for 30 years. He then was employed by Enloe Aluminum, installing gas station canopies for 10 years. Later he was employed by the Missouri Department of Corrections as an officer and retired from there after 10 years of service.
    He enjoyed fishing, hunting, puzzle books, game shows, playing the lottery and Kansas City Chiefs football. His loved his dog, Auggie who passed away December 11, 2020. Charlie liked to shoot the breeze and his all time two favorite television shows were Survivor and Big Bother. He never missed an episode or season of either one.
    In 1989 Charles met Alice Cheryl Olsen in Eldon, Missouri. They remained together until Cheryl passed away on April 17, 2018.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Curtis Jess and Melva Martin; companion, Cheryl: and a sister, Charlotte Brandt.
    He is survived by his children, Tina Cox and husband Wesley of Belle, Missouri, Curtis Martin and wife Lisa of Holts Summit, Missouri, Angelique Degraffenried and husband Daryl of Blue Springs, Missouri and Kimberly Martin of St. James, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Matthew Arnold of Eldon, Missouri, Benny Wright, Curtis Martin Jr. and wife Callie of Colorado Spring, Colorado, Charles Martin and Destanee Martin, all of Holts Summit, Missouri, Ishmul Martin of Owensville, Missouri, Jadrien Martin of Gerald, Missouri and Arieanna Stewart of St. James, Missouri; two great grandchildren, Taya and Dreson Ellis of Blue Springs, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    As per Charles wishes, there were no services and he was cremated.
    Arrangements under the direction of the Sassmann Chapel in Belle, Missouri.
