Jo Ann “Jody” Coleman


    Jo Ann “Jody” (nee Stevenson) Coleman of Washington, Missouri was born January 8, 1953 in Ironton, Missouri to William and Anita Pickert Stevenson and passed away Wednesday, February 3, 2021 at the age of 68 years and 26 days.


    Jody had worked for the Missouri Department of Transportation.
    She enjoyed bowling and working in her yard. She loved her animals, two dogs and a cat and loved to drink “diet cherry Dr. Pepper.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, William and Anita Stevenson; one son, Neil Maxwell; a granddaughter, Hollie Chasen; two brothers, Allen (Judy) Stevenson, Harry Stevenson; and one sister, Brenda Priest.
    She is survived by her two daughters, Stephanie Lemon and companion Randy McKinney of Bonne Terre, Missouri and Christina (David) Booker of Cook Station, Missouri; one sister, Mary (Donald) Turnbough of Viburnum, Missouri; one sister-in-law, Vickie Stevenson of Cedar Hill, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Megan (Jesse) Cribbs, James (Danielle) Booher, Andrew Chasen, Lindsay Chasen, Abigail Whitaker, Madison Whitaker; Luke Booker and Jacob Booker; five great grandchildren, Bre Cribbs, Isabella French, John Cribbs, Elijah Cribbs and Mia Ann Booker; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 11:00 a.m. until 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 1 p.m. on Saturday, February 6, 2021 at the Britton-Bennett Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Pastor Troy Merseal officiating. Special music of “Holes in the Floor of Heaven” and “I’ll Fly Away” was played. “Amazing Grace” was sung by granddaughter Megan Cribbs. Special memories were shared by daughter Christina and some of the grandchildren.

    The family chose cremation as the final disposition.
