William Obern “Billy” Stubblefield

    William Obern “Billy” Stubblefield of Sullivan, Missouri was born October 5, 1942 to Floyd and Anna Loetta (nee Licklider) Stubblefield and passed away on Monday, February 1, 2021 at the age of 78 years.

    Billy, as he was known, was raised in the Owensville, Missouri area for most of his early life.
    He went to Owensville schools from elementary through high school. He was very involved in FFA and graduated with the Owensville Class of 1960. Following high school, he was employed by the Missouri Highway Department.
    He married Lois Ann Danz, August 3, 1963.
    Getting tired of the hustle and bustle of working in St. Louis, Missouri each day, Billy and his brothers-in-law, James Martin and James Turner, started MST Masonry in 1973. They did work all over the state of Missouri, including the State Penitentiary in Jefferson City, the Lake of the Ozarks, Sullivan, Washington and St. Louis. Billy decided to retire in 2009.
    Billy was a Christian and he and his wife Lois were baptized into Christ in the Meramec River, after a church revival on August 1, 1976. Billy was a member of the Sullivan Christian Church for 47 years, where he served as Deacon, Elder and part of the building committee.
    Billy was always an avid hunter and fisherman, as well as a lifetime member of NRA. He enjoyed hunting and fishing. Billy especially enjoyed the family trips to the Lake of the Ozarks, twice a year for the past 15 years.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Floyd and Anna Loetta Stubblefield; father and mother-in-law, Raymond and Velma Danz; and brothers-in-law, James Martin and Pleys Underdown.
    He is survived by his wife, Lois, of the family home in Leslie, Missouri; one son, Bryan Stubblefield and wife Cheryl of Sullivan, Missouri; two daughters, Bernita Richardson and husband Brad of Leslie, Missouri and Barbara Voss and husband Kevin of Washington, Missouri; nine grandchildren, Bryanna Beine and husband Bill, Sarah Funkhouser and husband Gerry, Willie Stubblefield, Logine Pohlman, Annie Richardson and fiancé Austin Tyree, Baylee, Brooklin, Brendin and Blake Voss; five great grandchildren, Dominick, Colton and Emma Beine, Carson Funkhouser and Ava Tackett; one brother, Ronnie Stubblefield; sisters-in-law, Joy Underdown, Karen Willis and husband Floyd, and Glora Turner and husband James; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 2-6 p.m. on Sunday, February 7, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 11:30 a.m. on Monday, February 8, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri with Pastor John Blackmore officiating.
    Interment followed in the Dutch Hill Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
