Adam Wallace Tibbetts

    Adam Wallace Tibbetts of St. James, Missouri was born July 10, 1986 in Independence, Missouri to Tommy L. and Mila Wallace Tibbetts and passed away Wednesday, March 17, 2021 at the age of 34 years.

    Adam graduated high school and attended Drury University where he received a Bachelor’s Degree.
    After college, he entered the United States Army and served his country in high combat in Iraq. He received the Iraq Campaign Medal, Three Campaign Stars, Army Commendation Medal (3RD Award), Army Good Conduct Medal, National Defense Service Medal, Global War on Terrorism Service Medal, Army Service Ribbon, Overseas Service Ribbon (2nd Award,) Combat Action Badge. He was subject to active-duty recall.
    Upon returning home he was an avid bow hunter and he loved riding his motorcycle. Adam was active in charity work and donated many hours to the Hardcore Ministries.  He was tender-hearted but he was also tough as nails. Even though he enjoyed life his military career, it affected his ability to work. Sometimes Adam seemed disinterested or distant, but it was his way of trying not to think or feel in order to block out painful memories. Adam spent many hours with his PTSD doctor in Columbia, Missouri.
    He was preceded in death by his mother who passed away in 1998.     
    He is survived by his father; one son; two brothers; two sisters; other relatives and friends.
    Private graveside service with full military honors was held Wednesday, March 24, 2021 at the family plot at Liberty Cemetery in Belle, Missouri. Patriot Guard Riders provided an escort to the cemetery.
