Noel “Sonny” Richard Smith of Cuba, Missouri was born February 4, 1938 in Courtois, Missouri to Charles “Willard” Smith and Eva Marie Breakfield Smith and passed away Sunday, April 11, 2021 at the age of 83 years, 2 months and 7 days.
Sonny loved music, especially country. In his younger days, he played with local bands in St. Louis and later moved to Nashville where he was a professional musician, singing and playing the guitar, for over 12 years.
He also had various jobs in St. Louis and also moved to Mississippi where he worked on shrimp boats for a while. Eventually, he moved back to St. Louis, Missouri and then back near home in the Cuba and Steelville, Missouri area. Sonny also loved doing carpentry work.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and one brother, Roger Smith.
He is survived by a daughter, Alisha Dyan Gaddy of Colorado; two brothers, Wayne (Lori) Smith of St. George, Utah and Warren (Jo) Smith of Canon City, Colorado; one sister, Mary (Jerry) Shaw of St. Charles, Missouri; special cousins, Diane Stubbert of Steelville, Missouri and Roger (Helen) Halbrook of Patton, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation as the final disposition. No services will be held.
