Great performance

Wow, wow, wow. There are not enough words to describe the St. James High School band concert I just witnessed on Saturday afternoon. It was great in two parts. First, the Performing Arts Auditorium. What a beautiful venue. The seating was very comfortable, the view was perfect and the acoustics were outstanding. Dr. Johnson and the school board have created something the people of St. James should be very proud of. Well done.

Now the performance! I have had four children that have been through band program starting in 1995. They all started in sixth grade band and were in the band program for seven years. I have a grandson (a junior) who is currently in band and also started in sixth grade band. I am currently a band booster officer and have been one, off and on for 14 years. I have to say the concert on Saturday was the best high school band concert I have ever had the privilege to attend.
Mr. Limbeck and Mr. Payne should be congratulated for doing such an outstanding job. Like all teachers, they have gone above and beyond putting in hundreds of hours (out of school hours) to get these musicians to perform at such a high level. You could see that dedication in the performance. The music selection, the energy, the quality of the music and the enthusiasm of the students was superb. I want to thank each and every one of them for their hard work and dedication to provide such quality entertainment. The only problem I had with the performance was that it was too short.
Anyone who did not attend the concert missed out on something special. People in St. James need to support the fine arts because there is a wealth of talent in all the programs.
Thank you again band for such an entertaining evening.
