School to celebrate end of classes

The Steelville School District will celebrate the end of the 2020-21 school year on Wednesday, May 26, from 6:30 to 8 p.m. at the Steelville City Park.

This will be a drive-through celebration, continuing a new tradition began last year when the COVID-19 pandemic forced changes to large gatherings. Beginning at 6:30 p.m., teachers and staff members will line the circle drive at the Steelville City Park. Parents and students are invited to drive through and celebrate the end of the year together.
This event will also include a special recognition for the graduated seniors of the Class of 2021. All seniors and their parents/ guardians are asked to arrive at the park at 8 p.m. After entering the park, instructions will be provided on where to park. At 8:20 p.m., the lights on the track and fields will be turned on and the seniors and parents will be led around the park by law enforcement officials, then on a lap through town.
