Walla Emogene Hollandsworth


    Walla Emogene Hollandsworth, known to all as Jean, of St. Clair, Missouri was born in Hopkins, Kentucky on February 13, 1930 to Charlie and Hilda (nee Phillips) Majors and passed away on Thursday, May 6, 2021 at the age of 91 years, two months and 23 days.


    On October 7, 1967 she married Marvin Lee Hollandsworth. They were married 26 years.
    Jean was a Christian, believing in the Lord as her Savior. She had attended various churches in St. Clair during her life, including First Baptist Church, First Assembly of God and the St. Clair Christian Church. During her working years, she was employed at Von Weise Gear in St. Clair, Missouri retiring after 30 years of service to the company.
    She enjoyed an active life with many hobbies and interests. Taking care of her yard and raising beautiful flowers was a favorite pastime. She also enjoyed doing crafts, especially making things with plastic canvas. Going to bluegrass concerts with her friends was another of her favorites.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Charlie and Hilda Majors; husband, Marvin Hollandsworth; daughter, Nancy Anderson-Anson; grandson, Aaron B. Truel; and three brothers, Charles, Carl and Clyde Majors.
    She is survived by three children, Johnnie Arnold, known to all as John, and wife Amy of Lonedell, Missouri, Brenda Truel and husband Garland of Ft. Myers, Florida and Patti Arnold of St. Clair, Missouri; five grandchildren, Christopher Truel and wife Jodi of South Gate, Michigan, Kerum Steele and husband Brian of Gurley, Alabama, Amanda Frede of Cuba, Missouri, James Todisman III, known to all as Jimmy, of St. Clair, Missouri and Tammy LaValle and husband Kevin of Washington, Missouri; 13 great grandchildren; several great great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the Russell Colonial Funeral Home in St. Clair, Missouri with the Rev. Raymond Laramore officiating.
    Interment was in the Crestview Memorial Park in St. Clair, Missouri.
