Karen Marie Wegescheide of Cuba, Missouri was born August 1, 1957, in St. Louis, Missouri, to Donald and Odelia (Hassel) Wegescheide and passed away on Tuesday, May 11, 2021 at the age of 62 years.
She grew up and attended school in St. Louis, Missouri later moving to the Sullivan, Missouri area, where she graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1976.
She lived in various places after graduation, including Jefferson City, Missouri, and the state of California. Karen then returned back to Missouri in 1995 to make it her final home.
Karen attended Cosmetology School and worked as a hair stylist for many years. She purchased her father’s home in Leasburg, Missouri where she enjoyed working in the yard, mowing her grass and entertaining her family with barbeques. She loved spending time in the sun, especially while floating on the river.
Karen was known as the “Mother of All” and had a big heart.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Donald and Odelia; sister, Mary; and two brothers-in-law, David Roberts and Roger Holterman.
She is survived by her four siblings, Debra Wegescheide-Holterman of Westphalia, Missouri, Joseph Wegescheide and wife Lisa of Leasburg, Missouri, Cathy Wegescheide-West and husband William of Cuba, Missouri and Alva Wegescheide-Roberts of Valley Park, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
A Remembrance Memorial service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, May 21, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
