Norma June Wehemeyer

    Norma June Wehmeyer of Rosebud, Missouri was born in Owensville, Missouri on June 10, 1935 to Harry and Nora (Roethemeyer) Winter and passed away May 18, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

    She married Clarence H. Wehmeyer on September 19, 1954 at the St. John’s Lutheran Church in Charlotte, Missouri. They were married for 40 years.
    Norma attended and graduated from St. John’s Lutheran Parochial School in Drake, Missouri. Then she attended and graduated from Owensville High School. After graduation she worked at General American Life Insurance Co.
    In January 1962 she and her husband took over Wehmeyer’s Cafe in Rosebud, Missouri until 1984. Then she worked several years at Gasconade Terrace.
    She and her husband lived in Rosebud where she joined Immanuel Lutheran Church and was a member there until her death. She was active in the Lutheran Women’s Missionary League serving as treasurer for years and enjoyed making many World Relief Quilts, youth quilts for Alaska Missions and lap robes for veterans. She enjoyed working outdoors in her garden and flowers, embroidery, counted cross-stitch and going on bus tour trips.
    She was preceded in death by her parents, Harry and Nora Winter; and husband, Clarence Wehmeyer.
    She is survived by her children, David and wife Irma of Union, Missouri and Daniel and wife Patricia of Fenton, Missouri; sister, Verna Liescheidt and husband Jim of BelAir, Maryland; brother, Leo Winter and wife Pam of Owensville, Missouri; grandchildren, Josh Wehmeyer and wife Jackie of Washington, Missouri, Courtney Coffman and husband Travis of Eureka, Missouri, Erica Gillespie and husband Spencer of St. Louis, Missouri and Grant Wehmeyer and wife Samantha of Eureka, Missouri; great grandchildren, Hailey, Cheyenne and Andrew Wehmeyer, Oliver and Evelyn Gillespie, Adaline and Devyn Wehmeyer, and Chase Coffman; special friend, David “Doc” Bennett of St. James, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 3-7 p.m. on Friday, May 21 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, May 22 at the Immanuel Lutheran Church in Rosebud, Missouri with Rev. Tim Weiser officiating.
    Burial was in the church cemetery.
