Kathy Jean Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri was born March 3, 1956 in Sullivan, Missouri to Harold Gene and Betty Jean (Carey) Byrd and passed away on Monday, May 31, 2021 at the age of 65 years.
She attended Bourbon High School and obtained her GED. Kathy went on to continue her education and was trained in medical transcription. She was employed as a transcriptionist at Washington University Hospital in St. Louis, Missouri for 10 years and then at BJC Hospital in Sullivan, Missouri for 15 years.
Kathy enjoyed reading, spending time outdoors, swinging on her front porch and camping.
She was preceded in death by her father, Harold Byrd; and grandparents, Joseph and Wyanetha Casey, James and Ruth Byrd and Paul and Helen Carey.
She is survived by her three children, Tracy Dace of Bourbon, Missouri, J. C. Lowman of Cuba, Missouri and Alisha Lowman of Cuba, Missouri; her mother, Betty Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri; three grandchildren, Daulton Lowman of Union, Missouri, Tracy Dace IV of Bourbon, Missouri and Bella Matchell of Cuba, Missouri; one brother, Keith Byrd of Leasburg, Missouri; one sister, Karen Byrd-Ivie and husband Mike of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Cremation arrangements have taken place.
Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Sunday, June 6, 2021 at the Lea Cemetery in Leasburg, Missouri.
