Andrew Jackson “Jack” Robert Rodgers Sr.

    Andrew Jackson Robert Rodgers Sr. of Bourbon, Missouri, was born on December 4, 1939 in St. Louis, Missouri to Morley and Gulena (Canada) Rodgers and passed away on Thursday, May 27, 2021 at the age of 81 years.

    He grew up and attended school in the Doniphan, Missouri area and later enlisted into the United States Marine Corps, where he honorably served his country as a military policeman.
    After his discharge, while working as a taxi driver, he met Shirley Garris. They were married on February 14, 1964. Together, they raised their family in Edwardsville, Illinois on “The Hill.”
    For the majority of his working career, Jack was employed by Amex Zinc and Smelting as a Millwright. He always made sure to devote time to his family, and especially loved taking many family vacations.
    After 24 years of marriage, Shirley passed away.
    Jack married Patricia Tucker on November 10, 1988.
    Jack and Patricia enjoyed traveling and living in various places, including Arkansas and Illinois, as Jack would rehab homes.
    His retirement years were spent hunting and fishing, he particularly loved Clearwater Lake in Piedmont, Missouri.
    Jack also enjoyed woodworking and making various things in his shop.
    He was preceded in death by his first wife, Shirley; his parents, Morley and Gulena Rodgers; six brothers, Sterlin, Verlin, Rolland, Wayne, Jimmie and Ernie; and three sisters, Janie, Evelyn and June.
    He is survived by his wife, Patricia of Bourbon, Missouri; son, Andrew Rodgers Jr. and wife Sheila of St. Robert, Missouri; three daughters, Cynthia Boda and husband Chris of Owensville, Missouri, Stacy Kellett and husband Terry of Stanton, Missouri and Lisa Nichols and husband Jerry of Bourbon, Missouri; 12 grandchildren, Kayla Noel Rodgers, AJ Rodgers III, Christopher Andrew Boda and wife, Brittany, Verlin Ley Boda and wife Alondra, Nathan Ray, David Ray, Dorenda Stotler, Alonna Pennock, Audreanna Lynn Pennock, Krystal Giebler and husband Rick, Justin Kellett and wife Shauna and Rebekah Nichols; 13 great grandchildren; one great great grandchild; one brother, Randall Rodgers of Collinsville, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Funeral services were held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, June 5, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
    Graveside services and interment was held at 11 a.m. on Monday, June 7, 2021 at Lakeview Memorial Gardens in Fairview Heights, Illinois.
