Gail Ann Van Meter of Collinsville, Illinois was born March 19, 1956 in St. Louis, Missouri to Dwight Morrison and Shirley Ann (nee Rodgers) Eaton and and passed away on Tuesday, June 1, 2021 at the age of 65 years.
Gail was a homemaker. She was a member of Christ Unity Church in Collinsville, Illinois, the VFW Post 5691 Ladies Auxiliary and Second Wind Lung Transplant Association of St. Louis, Missouri.
Gail was a double lung transplant recipient and an organ donor.
She was an animal lover.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Dwight Morrison and Shirley Ann Eaton.
She is survived by her husband, Dennis Dickey, whom she married on July 1, 2012; three sons, Chris Plank of Cahokia, Illinois, Ronnie (Stacy) Price of Lake St. Louis, Missouri and Tony (Stacey) VanMeter of Cahokia, Illinois; daughter, Brittney (Dylan) Koke of Troy, Illinois; three step-children, Matthew (Sarah) Dickey of Boston, Massachusetts, Erin (Spencer) Dickey of Stillwater, Oklahoma and Megan Dickey of Arlington, Virginia; 12 grandchildren, Derek, Devin, Ricky, Kayla, Aaron, Hannah, Kaden, Mia, Ceci, Bella, Clara and Henry; two great grandchildren; brother, Wayne (Gina) Eaton of Cahokia, Illinois; sister, Janice (Darrell) Cunningham of St. James, Missouri; half brother, Jimmy (Carol) Harvey of Bullard, Texas; other relatives and friends.
Funeral services were held Tuesday, June 8, 2021 at the Barry Wilson Funeral Home in Maryville, Illinois with burial in Steelville Cemetery in Steelville, Missouri.
