The GFF Committee is looking for candidates for the 2021 St. James Grape & Fall Festival Pageant. If you are a St. James 2021 junior, senior, or 2020 graduating senior, you are eligible to participate.
The current Miss St. James, Mackenzie Townley, is excited to work with upcoming candidates and cannot wait to help fellow young women grow in themselves and their passion for the community. The pageant will focus on representing local businesses and investing in the candidates.
Townley will be available at a few upcoming events where she will answer questions, give information about practices, tell about upcoming opportunities, and explain more about what it means to be a candidate in the pageant, and how holding the title has impacted her life. Please visit her and feel free to ask questions.
You can meet and greet Miss St. James at the following times:
• June 11 and 12 from 10:45 a.m. to noon at the St. James Tourist Information Center during the Farmer’s Market. She will entertain visitors with live music when not visiting with guests.
• June 21 from 11 a.m. to noon at the Make Music Day at the Rolla Library new stage area.
• July 18 from 2 to 4 p.m. at the Queen’s Tea. This is the kickoff for pageant practices and will provide a lot of important information. This event is open to all candidates, parents, and past St. James queens.
Practices begin mid-July. Rehearsals are optional, but beneficial, and will help girls prepare for the pageant. Most practices will feature guest speakers, focusing on different aspects of self-growth and pageant preparation.
Applications can be picked up and dropped off at the St. James Tourist Information Center Monday through Thursday from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m., Friday and Saturday from 8 a.m. at 4 p.m., and Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Applications can also be mailed to PO Box 358, St. James, MO, 65559. The deadline is June 30.
