Shelley Ann (nee Longcor) Statler of Cuba, Missouri was born on Sunday, August 5, 1951, in Burlington, Iowa to Oliver Bertram and Bonnie Savage Longcor passed away on Wednesday, June 16, 2021, at the age of 69 years, 10 months and 11 days.
Shelley grew up in Burlington, Iowa and graduated from Burlington High School in 1970.
She married her first husband, Michael E. Sink Sr. on August 7, 1970.
She worked for 10 years as a welder during the day at J.I. Case Company, a manufacturer of construction and agricultural equipment, and as a bartender in the evening.
She married her second husband, James “Larry” Statler on April 23, 1988 in Blytheville, Arkansas. They lived in Blytheville for 29 years and were members of New Liberty Baptist Church. They then moved to Russellville, Arkansas and lived there for four years. They recently moved to Cuba, Missouri this past January as her health declined.
Shelley enjoyed crocheting blankets, crafting baskets with lace and bears and making jewelry. She even owned her own earring shop for a few years. She loved getting flowers, reading and traveling, especially to Branson where she enjoyed seeing the shows and sights.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Oliver and Bonnie Longcor; brother, Randy Longcor; brother-in-law, Kenny Harryman; special aunt, Doris DeFose; and special cousin, Gary DeFose.
She is survived by her husband, James Statler; two sons, Michael E. Sink Jr. of Russellville, Arkansas and Jason (Stacey) Sink of Burlington, Iowa; three daughters, Sarah (Danny) Casey of Blytheville, Arkansas, Michelle (John) Kibling of Burlington, Iowa and Tammy (Thomas) Hughes of Cuba, Missouri one sister, Linda Harryman of Burlington, Iowa; 31 grandchildren; 17 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
The family chose cremation as her final disposition. A memorial service will be held at a later date.
