Almeta Gay Williams of Bourbon, Missouri was born October 19, 1940 near St. James, Missouri to Roy and Ruth (Matlock) Jones and passed away on Friday, June 11, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
She grew up and attended school at Matlock and eventually into St. James, Missouri.
On January 23, 1958 she married Richard Lee Williams.
Early in their life together, Almeta assisted Richard with their family businesses. Her life was forever changed on Easter Sunday of 1974, when she accepted Jesus Christ as her Lord and Savior. Together with Richard, they became a very integral part of the Lord’s ministry. Being the wife of a pastor, she was very active in different areas, especially children and bus ministries.
Many were blessed over the years by her love of cooking. Her family has many fond memories of Sunday dinners at her home.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Dr. Richard Lee Williams; one great grandchild; parents; parents-in-law, Roger and Jessica Williams; and three brothers, Ola Jones, Roy M. Jones and Larry Jones.
She is survived by three children, Kelly Jo and husband Steve Peters of Bourbon, Missouri, Richard Erik Williams and wife Michelle of Bourbon, Missouri and Amy Linette and husband George Jainchill of Columbia, Missouri; 10 grandchildren; 10 great grandchildren (with another on the way).; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 14, 2021 at the Meramec Valley Church in Bourbon, Missouri.
Services were held at 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday, June 15, 2021 at the Meramec Valley Baptist Church in Bourbon, Missouri with Pastor Erik Williams officiating.
Private interment was held on Wednesday, June 16, 2021 at the Matlock Cemetery in St. James, Missouri.
