    Rev. Norman Henry Cartwright of Rolla, Missouri was born on June 28, 1935 in Springfield, Missouri to Daniel A. and Frieda (Kruse) Cartwright and passed away Wednesday, June 23, 2021 at the age of 85 years.

    Norman was raised on a farm in Leasburg, Missouri with his parents and sister attending school in Bourbon, Missouri.
    On June 24, 1953 he married Ruth Marie (Kitchen) Cartwright in Corinth, Mississippi.  
    He and Ruth married four days before his 18th birthday after meeting in Sunday School and they began their ministry together.
    Norman and Ruth spent most of their married life of over 63 years in ministry together sharing great joys and sorrows. After they were married, he attended college at Southwest Baptist College and shortly thereafter X-Ray School in Springfield, Missouri.
    During those years of pastoring, he worked in a variety of different vocations as bi-vocational pastor. He worked for a mason and carpenter, lumber company, greenhouse, drove a milk truck, washed windows, washed dishes, drove a tire truck, a bus and served many years as Director of Radiology at Phelps County Memorial Hospital before retiring in 1997.
    During those years he pastored Wesco Mission Church, Mt. Olive Baptist Church, Liberty Baptist Church, Fairview Baptist Church, Victor Baptist Church, Newburg 1st Baptist Church and Spring Creek Baptist Church. After retiring from pastoring, he continued preaching in different churches in the area until his health prohibited it.
    Norman’s special song was “I’d Rather have Jesus.” He taught us many things but the most important was to have a strong passion for Jesus.
    He was preceded in death by his parents, Daniel and Frieda; wife, Ruth Cartwright on January 22, 2017; infant daughter, Cindy Cartwright;  daughter-in-law, Judy Cartwright on February 5, 2020; and sister, Mary Ann Johnson.
    He is survived by two sons, Daniel Cartwright of Anutt, Missouri and Dwayne Cartwright and wife Julie of Rolla, Missouri; two daughters, Lorena Case and husband Dennis of Lecoma, Missouri and Darla Seelke and husband Robert of Rolla, Missouri; 11 grandchildren, Sean Cartwright and wife Kimberly, Angela Arthur and husband Dewayne, Joe Cartwright and wife Amy, Josh Cartwright and wife Tiffany, Jon Cartwright and wife Lindsey, Jenna Weldon and husband Clint, Jeff Case and wife Laura, Emily Yue and husband Andrew, Hannah Mason and husband Aaron, Kendra Satterly and husband Thomas and Ryan Seelke and wife Jessica; 32 great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
    Visitation was held from 5-8 p.m. on Saturday, June 26, 2021 at the Null and Son Funeral Home in Rolla, Missouri.
    A second visitation was held from 1-2 p.m. on Sunday, June 27, 2021 at the Victor Baptist Church in Anutt, Missouri.
    Funeral service was held at 2 p.m. on the Victor Baptist Church in Anutt, Missouri.  
    Interment follow in the Anutt Cemetery.
