Delores Virginia Langenberg of Owensville, Missouri was born in St. Louis, Missouri on May 28, 1941 to Roy and Ella (Picker) Chapman and passed away Thursday, September 2, 2021 at the age of 80 years.
She married Paul Spurgeon September 7, 1963 at Leduc Methodist Church. She later married Calvin Langenberg on January 10, 2004 at the Trinity Presbyterian Church in Cuba, Missouri.
Delores enjoyed shopping, sight seeing, photography, sewing, quilting and traveling.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Roy and Ella; husband, Paul Spurgeon; and two sons, William “Billy” and Steven Spurgeon.
She is survived by her husband, Calvin of the home; daughters, Sheryl Mertz and husband Chris of Bland, Missouri and Sandy Mitchell and husband Scott of Cuba, Missouri; daughters-in-law, Tina Spurgeon of Owensville, Missouri and Lydia Gore of Rosebud, Missouri; step son, Craig Langenberg and wife Jane of Brooksville, Florida; brother, Robert Chapman and wife Linda of Bland, Missouri; sister, Joyce Biles and husband Roger of Owensville, Missouri; grandchildren, Nicholas Mertz and wife Shelby, Nathan Mertz and wife April, Jacob Spurgeon and wife Chantel, Samantha Ridley and husband Robert, Mercedes Barton and husband Mitchell, Shayla Farris and husband Evin, Danton Creek, William Spurgeon, Austin Spurgeon and Katie Creek; step grandchildren, Brett and Tyler Langenberg; and great grandchildren, Kate and Maggie Mertz and Karter Farris and expecting a fourth.
Visitation was held from 4-8 p.m. on Monday, September 6, 2021 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home in Owensville, Missouri.
Funeral services were held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, September 7 at the Gottenstroeter Funeral Home with Pastor Tommy Miller officiating.
Burial was in the Licklider Cemetery in Cuba, Missouri.
