Rodney Ray Rumley of St. James, Missouri was born in Leon, Iowa on June 29, 1956 to Ray and Mary (Blodgett) Rumley and passed away on Saturday, September 11, 2021 at the age of 65 years.
He married Katherine (Kathy) Osmon on December 3, 1983. They were happily married for almost 38 years.
Rodney was a dedicated employee of Wal-Mart Transportation for 30 years. He retired in March 2019. He was respected by all who worked alongside him and was a driving force in the Wal-Mart truckers reunion.
Rodney was a faithful member of First Baptist Church, St. James, Missouri. He stayed busy greeting members and visitors on Sunday mornings. Whether handing out bulletins or offering elevator use, he was ever mindful of keeping you safe. He ushered and filled in serving communion when needed. He was involved in the upkeep of facilities and used the COVID hiatus as an opportunity to give the sanctuary a long-overdue painting.
He loved watching Cardinal baseball, taking his beloved dog, Brownie, for walks and watching westerns on TV.
He was preceded in death by his father, Ray; and grandparents.
He is survived by his wife, Kathy; mother, Mary of St. James, Missouri; siblings, Raeleen Durham and husband James of Lebanon, Missouri and Russell Rumley of Moline, Illinois; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, September 15, 2021 at the Jones Funeral Home in St. James, Missouri.

Graveside services were held at 1 p.m. on Friday, September 17, 2021 at the Leon Cemetery in Leon, Iowa.
