James “Jimmy” Daniel DeClue, of Gerald, Missouri, formerly of Cuba, Missouri, was born on Friday, June 8, 1962 in Cuba, Missouri to Benjamin Irving and Bonnie Berneal Ransom DeClue and passed away on Thursday, September 23, 2021 at the age of 59 years, 3 months and 15 days.
Jimmy grew up in Steelville, Missouri where he also attended school.
He joined the United States Army where he served his country honorably.
He later worked as a cable technician for many years.
Jimmy was an avid reader and enjoyed hunting and fishing.
He was preceded in death by his father, Benjamin DeClue; brother-in-law, Eldon Schlegel; and special aunt, Janet Chandler.
He is survived by his mother, Bonnie (Sonny) Haffer of Steelville, Missouri; children, Phylisha (Charles) Lewis of Washington and Laura DeClue of Cuba, Missouri; siblings, Diana “DD” Pletzer of Branson, Missouri, Joe (Raylene) DeClue of Sullivan, Missouri, David DeClue of Cuba, Missouri, Michelle “Shelly” (Nick) Bensing of Claremore, Oklahoma, Melissa “Missy” Copling of Cuba, Missouri and Daniel DeClue of Bourbon, Misosuri; special uncle, Cleo Chandler of Cuba, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from 5-7 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri.
Memorial service was held at 7 p.m. on Friday, October 8, 2021 at the Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, Missouri with Rev. Alan Miles officiating and full military honors.
The service was live-streamed on Hutson Funeral Home in Steelville, MO’s Facebook Page.
The family chose cremation as his final disposition.
