Louis Negretti was born on October 11, 1921 in Bessemer, Michigan, to Peter and Fransisea (Parka) Negretti and passed away on Tuesday, October 19, 2021 at at the age of 100 years.
He grew up in Michigan and attended school there. Louis went to work in the mines at an early age.
He honorably served his country in the United States Army during World War II from November 23, 1942 to December 21, 1945.
Louis married Mary Wathen.
In 1963, Louis and Mary moved their family to Sullivan, Missouri where Louis was employed by Pea Ridge Mine until he retired in 1983.
In his retirement years, Louis and Mary enjoyed traveling to Michigan to visit family. Later in life, Louis purchased property in Licking, Missouri and made his final home there. Louis was a member of the Sullivan VFW.
He was preceded in death by his wife, Mary; grandson, Brett Jensen; parents, Peter and Fransisea Negretti; three brothers, Joe, John and Nicholas Negretti; and one sister, Mary Madsen.
He is survived by two children, William Negretti of Licking, Missouri and Rose Sumpter and husband Dickie of Sullivan, Missouri; six grandchildren, Gabriel Negretti and wife Grace of Bourbon, Missouri, Cherry Kelley and husband Shawn of St. Clair, Missouri, Patrick Negretti of Union, Missouri, Bobby Sumpter and wife Mandy of Sullivan, Missouri, Ricky Sumpter of Sullivan, Missouri, and Jill Jensen of Rolla, Missouri; numerous great grandchildren; other relatives and friends.
Visitation was held from noon to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Memorial services were held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 27, 2021 at the Eaton Funeral Home in Sullivan, Missouri.
Burial, with full military honors, followed in the I.O.O.F. Memorial Cemetery.
