On December 26, 1956, he married Sue Carolyn Bolls in Prescott, Arkansas.
Jack’s first job out of the University of Arkansas was teaching sixth grade, which he absolutely loved. Due to his and Sue’s expanding family and the meager wages associated with teaching, he began work in the accounting department at the Arkansas Game and Fish Commission. After the birth of their second child, the family moved to Pine Bluff, Arkansas where Jack began what became a fairly lengthy career in the bearing industry with Allied Arkansas Bearing Company. In 1969 he continued that career with a move to Littleton, Colorado with Browning Bearing Company, traveling the Rocky Mountain region from the Canadian border, south to Mexico, as a factory representative.
In 1976 the family moved to Belgrade, Montana beginning a new adventure as partners in Road and Ranch Supply, selling auto parts and serving the farm community in the beautiful Gallatin Valley.
In 1997, Jack and Sue sold the business and Jack began a third and very successful career in the post-frame construction industry. Jack discovered and used his talents to design and build a variety of structures from cabins to elaborate airplane hangars to large facilities for commercial and community use; receiving top recognition from the National Framebuilder’s Association for his design and construction of The Boy’s and Girl’s Club in Bozeman.
In 2007, Jack suffered debilitating strokes and shortly thereafter, he and Sue relocated to Columbia, Missouri to be closer to family.
He was preceded in death by his parents; and brother, Charlie Bolls.
