Lois Dean Copeland

    Lois Dean (nee Blankenship) Copeland of Gerald, Missouri was born May 21, 1933 to Alva and Elsie (Strothkamp) Blankenship and passed away Friday, November 12, 2021 at the age of 88 years.

    She was raised in Strain/Japan, Missouri where she attended Holy Martyrs Catholic School and later graduated from Sullivan High School, Class of 1951.
    In May 1953 she married Richard (Gene) Copeland. The two resided in Gerald, Missouri. They later divorced.
    She was a very hard worker, working for Ramsey/Dana Corp. until the age of 76. She was a devoted Catholic, attending Holy Martyrs from childhood. Lois was a wonderful cook and enjoyed cooking for her family.
    She was preceded in death by her two daughters, Debra and Diane Copeland; parents, Alva and Elsie Blankenship; one sister, Mary Theresa; and two brothers, Charles Blankenship and Earl Blankenship and wife Linda.
    She is survived by her two sons, Randy Copeland of Austin, Texas and Roger Copeland and wife Donna of Gerald, Missouri; eight grandchildren, Scott Baumbach and wife Taylor of Villa Ridge, Missouri, Jeremy Copeland and wife Mandy of Sullivan, Missouri, Brandy Bruning and husband Wesley of Sullivan, Missouri, Kristi Board and special friend Erik Proug of House Springs, Missouri, Chase Copeland, Emily Copeland, both of Gerald, Missouri, Dustin Ross and Carly Brown, both of Gerald, Missouri; eight great grandchildren, Haley, Hunter, Konner, Sophie, Aviana, Bentley, Timothy and Caroline; 12 brothers and sisters, Edgar and Goldeen Blankenship of Bland, Missouri, Lana and Danny Gauer of Sullivan, Missouri, Rich and Donna Blankenship of Steelville, Missouri, Janet and Mike Terris of St. Charles, Missouri, Lorene and Mike Ransom of Cuba, Missouri, Shirl and Jerry Burchum of Sullivan, Missouri, Lisa and Tony Caltry of Sullivan, Missouri, Linda and Mark Heuer of Cuba, Missouri, Carol Schlueter of Bourbon, Missouri, Rod and Rita Blankenship of Sullivan, Missouri, Joan and Ronnie Strothcamp of Zalma, Missouri and Jack and Betty Blankenship of Sullivan, Missouri; sister-in-law, Shirley Blankenship of Spring Bluff, Missouri; other relatives and friends.
    Private graveside service, for family only, was held Thursday, November 18, 2021 at the Holy Martyrs Cemetery in Sullivan, Missouri.
