Mary Evelyn Clemons was born September 28, 1931 in Greenfield, Tennessee to Elmer Harvey and Dora Mae (Stanfield) Bishop and passed away on November 12, 2021 at the age of 90 years.
Mary lived mostly in Eminence, Missouri; Union City, Tennessee; St. James, Missouri and in Ellsinore, Missouri her last 56 years
She was raised in the Baptist faith and attended the First Baptist Church of Van Buren, Missouri.
Mary loved to travel and make things she called her “nothings.” She recycled cardboard and made tissue boxes, flowers and butterflies. She covered them in glitter paper or material.
On Aril 20, 1948 she married Junior Leonard Clemons in Sikeston, Missouri.
She was preceded in death by her parents, Elmer and Dora Bishop; husband, Junior Leonard Clemons; one son, Mitchell Wayne Clemons; and one daughter, Donna Jean Dixon Southern.
She is survived by one son, Lenard Clay (Pam) Clemons of Eminence, Missouri; one daughter, Suzanne Keeney Clemons of Ellsinore, Missouri; four grandchildren; 15 great grandchildren; eight great great grandchildren from Van Buren, Eminence, Poplar Bluff, St. James, Missouri; Parma, Idaho; and the state of Texas; other relatives and friends.
Memorial service was held at the First Baptist Church in Van Buren, Missouri on November 21, 2021 at 1 p.m. with dinner following.
