Chamber hosting trivia night to help needing families

The St. James Chamber of Commerce is hosting a Christmas Trivia Night on December 3 and is now accepting teams wishing to participate. Proceeds will help local families and individuals in need during the holiday season.

“All proceeds will go to help the families and individuals in need for Christmas. Tables will fill fast and there will be a limited amount,” Charity Satterfield, treasurer, explained. Eight-member teams are now being accepted for the event, which will cost $120 per table.
All tables must be paid for and reserved in advance. The event will be held at the St. James Catholic Church hall, located at 318 East Scioto. Doors will open at 6 p.m. and trivia begins at 7 p.m. Throughout the event, there will be a 50/50 raffle, silent auction, live pie auction, and a best ugly Christmas sweater contest, along with trivia.
“We are also looking for volunteers. Please let me know if you will be able to volunteer or provide an auction item. We will be thanking everyone for taking part in this event on social media to show our appreciation for helping the people in our community,” Satterfield said.
“We also have three Christmas trees we would like to auction off as well. The Walmart DC has graciously donated three artificial trees that can be decorated and auctioned off. If you would like to be one of our tree sponsors, please let me know. You will be responsible for providing decorations and setting the tree up the night of the event. These will be on a first come, first served basis,” Satterfield explained. “One tree will be given away as a door prize.”
The Chamber is also seeking round-winner donations. “This could be anything from koozies, bottle openers, t-shirts, or gift certificates,” Satterfield said. “We have eight rounds and will give away eight small gifts to the round winner each time.”
